Frequently Asked Questions
1
Are Inka's Acres goat kids disbudded?
Yes, we disbud our goats for the safety of the herd and ourselves, though some goats may get small scurs after disbudding, which are common and usually do not require management.
2
Is the herd tested for CAE, CL, and Johnes?
Yes, we take herd health seriously. We have a biosecurity panel run on our herd annually, which tests for CAE, CL, and Johnes.
3
Do purchased goats come registered and with registration paperwork?
If an adult goat is purchased, they will be sent to their new home with their registration paperwork, though it's up to the buyer to complete the transfer of the goat's registration to them.
When kids are purchased, they will be sent to their new home with a pre-filled MDGA or ADGA registration application (depending on the breed). It's the buyer's responsibility to submit and purchase their new goat's registration.
4
Can I purchase just one goat?
Because goats are herd animals, they are social creatures that require a companion to be happy and healthy. A single goat often gets lonely, stressed, or vocal.
To help our goats continue to thrive when they leave our farm, we require them to be purchased in pairs so they have a buddy. Even if you have goats at home, having a buddy helps them transition much quicker (and healthier).
5
Do you offer out-of-state transports?
We don't personally transport goats to out-of-state buyers, but we can recommend several reputable livestock transport companies.
There are also Facebook groups available (i.e. Livestock Hauling & Transport) for coordinating livestock transports.
6
Are your goats friendly and well-socialized?

Can you explain the goat waitlist process?
To secure your place on the 2026 (or future year) kidding waitlist, or to inquire about a 2026 goat for sale (doe, buck, or kid), please complete the Goat Waitlist form. Once submitted, we'll review and contact you with any questions. A $100 deposit is required for each waitlist position.
After kids arrive, we'll reach out to each person on the waitlist in the order of deposits paid. If we do not have a kid of the right sex, or if we don't have a Mini Nubian kid available that meets your stated criteria, your money will be refunded or you can transfer your deposit to a kid from the next year (deposits are otherwise non-refundable).
Kids are weaned at 12 weeks old and are free to go to their new homes at that time. If kid does not leave Inka's Acres by the time they are 13 weeks old, there is a $2/day boarding fee per goat.
