Welcome to Inka's Acres
Here's a little about us, our ranch, our herd, breeding program, how we approach herd health, and the other important animals of Inka's Acres.
About Us
Animals have always been a central part of our lives, long before Inka’s Acres ever existed. Over the years, we’ve shared our home with rescue animals—giving them a safe, happy place to land has always been important to us.
We both grew up in the South, but over time we found ourselves wanting something different: a slower pace, cleaner air, more privacy, and enough space to build a life surrounded by animals and the outdoors. After spending years visiting Colorado and eventually living in Idaho, we made our way to a remote corner of Northern Colorado in 2023, where Inka’s Acres began to take shape.
These days, life outside of the barn usually involves tackling property projects, hiking and camping with our dogs, attempting to garden (with mixed results), and spending as much time outdoors and with the animals as possible.
We work hard, laugh a lot, and are almost always in the middle of some kind of project—but we wouldn’t trade this life for anything.
It’s a full life, and one we’re deeply grateful for. At the center of it all is a deep appreciation for the animals we care for and the life we’re building alongside them.
Our Ranch
At our Livermore ranch, located at 8,500 feet in the Rockies of Northern Colorado, we are dedicated to raising exceptional, pedigreed Mini Nubian and Nigerian Dwarf Goats through intentional breeding and a long-term commitment to herd improvement.
Our farm's namesake is a German Shepherd x Wild Canid mix, named Inka. She is the happiest, most energetic and beautiful girl who works hard to keep our inside shepherds in line. She is our heart and soul dog and the reason we have this property!
Breeding Program
Our program is centered on Mini Nubians, along with a select group of Nigerian Dwarfs. We breed for strong, correct conformation, well-attached and functional udders, and consistent milk production. Each pairing is carefully planned to complement strengths, improve weaknesses, and move the herd forward with every generation.
We have invested in proven genetics, bringing in quality does and bucks to strengthen our program and build a herd that reflects both structure and productivity. As we continue to grow, we look forward to participating in milk testing to further validate the results of our breeding decisions.
Herd Wellness
The health of our herd is something we take seriously and approach with consistency, attention to detail, and long-term stewardship in mind. Our goats receive regular care and routine health management, including annual biosecurity testing, preventative care, and ongoing monitoring to help maintain a healthy herd environment.
Cleanliness and daily management are also an important part of our program. Barns, stalls, and living areas are cleaned regularly to provide a comfortable, well-maintained space for our animals year-round.
We believe good herd health comes from consistency, proactive care, and daily attention to detail. Healthy animals and a well-managed environment are foundational to everything we’re building at Inka’s Acres.
Our Goats
We love our goats and think it shows! They are a healthy, happy herd with quality graze and hay, hills and rock outcroppings to climb, and humans who care deeply for their wellbeing.
The kids born on our farm are dam-raised to ensure 24/7 access to their mom's nutrient-dense colostrum and milk and to learn essential foraging and social skills. But with constant human interaction and socialization (I mean, it's hard to stay away from baby goats anyway), they are such friendly kids who appreciate cuddles, affection, and using us as jungle gyms.
Other Inka's Acres Animals
Our does and bucks are protected by two Colorado Mountain Dogs, Panda and Maynard, and the goats graze alongside our horses, Hondo, Penny, and Kahlua.
Our barn cats keep our property pest free, chickens provide us with daily farm-fresh eggs, and the inside dogs and cats keep our home filled with love and pet hair.
